The 2018 vintage of 2040 is lush and elegant consisting of high-elevation, mountain fruit with aromas of violet, blueberry and black cherry. The palate is rich with sweet oak and a hint of spice with a velvety smooth, lingering finish and well-integrated tannins. Pairs with a grilled filet mignon, braised beef short ribs and sharp cheeses. Enjoy this wine now or cellar for enjoyment for years to come.

Vineyard Notes
This high-elevation wine comprises Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the highest block of the wild and expansive Cooley Ranch in the far western reaches of Sonoma County. The block named Sky High sits 2,040 feet above sea level, towering above all neighboring peaks.
Grapes up there look down on everything: Hawks surfing thermals in mid-air, mountains beyond mountains to the north, and the gentle waters of Lake Sonoma. The steep slopes of the vineyard force vines to dig deep into the soil for nutrients and water, ultimately resulting
in thick-skinned grapes with bold yet complicated flavors.
